RIDI Linia Configurator

Working with RIDI to create a configurator for their Linia lightband system was a chance to turn a complex range of lighting products into a straightforward, user-friendly tool. In my role as both Art Director and UX/UI Designer, I focused on making sure anyone—whether a sales specialist or an end customer—could quickly select gear modules, mounting types, and connectivity options without confusion. This meant studying every detail of the Linia system so the final interface felt clear and intuitive, even when users were exploring many different lighting configurations.

One of the biggest improvements we introduced was an advanced filtering system that automatically hid any modules or accessories that didn’t fit together. This gave users the freedom to explore without worrying about creating invalid setups. We also added a “Repeat and Linear Scheme” feature, which made it simpler to arrange large numbers of luminaires in a neat row or repeated pattern, allowing designers to plan more efficiently. A real-time cost summary rounded out the experience, so users could see the impact of each choice on their budget right away, leading to more informed decisions.

As the configurator continued to evolve, RIDI saw how this tool saved time by producing accurate proposals for clients in multiple languages.
